Manchester Caregiver Connection Meetings are ongoing on the first Monday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  at the Senior Center at 549 E. Middle Tpke.  This program is for caregivers of all ages who live in Manchester or care for family members who live in Manchester.  This program provides information on homecare services, sharing helpful ideas and providing understanding and support.   For further information contact Manchester Senior Center, Social Worker, Sue Bernstein at 647-5263.                    

There is a new website for information on safe use of  medication.Website is:www.SeniorCarePharmacist.com. This website helps elderly and those who care for them find information on how to use medications safely & provides some educational info regarding medication-related problems and the elderly. 

A new website www.benefitscheckup.org is available as a free, easy-to-use service which identifies federal and state assistance programs for older Americans.  The National Council on Aging created Benefits CheckUp to help older adults quickly identify programs that may improve the quality of their lives.  This Benefits CheckUp is completely confidential and takes only a few minutes to enter information about your financial situation into an online questionnaire.   The Program then explains what benefit programs someone may be eligible for and how to apply for them.  There is also a website for pharmaceuticals which can be reached at BenefitsCheckUp.orgRX.

Medicare has a website that provides infomation on Medicare benefits as well as Part D screening and registration tool. www.medicare.gov

The Manchester Human Services Department is pleased to offer AT HOME - Activities Travel to the Homes of Manchester Elders.  This program is designed for seniors who do not get out often, but would enjoy one-to-one visits from a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  Each one-hour visit is customized to suit the interests of the participant and may include social, physical and creative activities.  AT HOME is offered free of charge. More information is available by calling the Manchester Senior Center at 647-3211.
