"ARM YOURSELF WITH COLON CANCER PREVENTION INFORMATION" - March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month - On March 24th at 1:00 p.m. in the Library, Dorely Roldan, Hartford Hospital Community Outreach Educator will present on Colorectal Prevention information. Those who attend will receive a FREE At-Home test and cancer fighting tasty snacks will be provided. Please sign up at the front desk or call us at 860-647-3211.

BEATING THE BLUES - Presented by Holly Gibson of Visiting Nurse and Health Services on Thursday, March 25th at 1:00 p.m. in the Library. Holly Gibson will talk about dealing with this long dreary winter, feeling down in the dumps, lack of motivation, loss of loved ones and suffering from chronic illness. She will teach you how to cope with these feeling and improve your outlook on life. Sign up with the front office or call us at 860-647-3211.

AARP Driver's Education CLASS SCHEDULE:
Thursday & Friday, March 25 & 26 - 8:30-12:30
Thursday & Friday, April 22 & 23 - 8:30-12:30
Thursday & Friday, May 20 & 21, 8:30-12:30 ---- All Driver's Education classes will take place in the Card Room both days. The fee for this program is $12.00 for AARP Members; $14.00 for Non-AARP members. Fee and AARP card are required at time of registration. Please call 647-3211.

AARP Manchester Members Chapter 1275 - SAVE OUR CHAPTER
We need members and friends in order to survive. It is disheartening to plan an interesting meeting and have only a few people attend. Come and put LIFE back into our meetings!

Board Meeting March 10, 2010 at 12:45 p.m. - All Officers, Please Attend.

Membership Meeting March 10, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 585 East Center St., Manchester, CT. Our guest speaker will be our Town Historian, Vivian Ferguson. She will represent the Manchester Historical Society and tell some interesting facts about our town. Please plan to attend so we can show our appreciation for great guests.

We are still collecting slightly used clothing for the Church Moust Thrift Shoppe. This shop is sponsored by MACC. Bring your clean donations to the meeting and give them to Gail Aylmer, our Community Service Chairperson.

MEMBERSHIP DUES: $10.00 per person. In order to belong to a local chapter, your NATIONAL DUES must be current. Please check the expiration date on your NATIONAL CARD. If paying chapter dues at the meeting, fill out form mailed to you and bring it in with your white Chapter #1275 Membership Card - If paying by mail, enclose a check made out to: AARP #1275 and include your white Capter #1275 Membership Card, the form and a self addressed STAMPED envelope so your card can be returned to you. AT HOME Program

( Travel to the Homes of Manchester Elders)
This program is designed for seniors who do not get out often, but would enjoy one-to-one visits from a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Each one-hour visit is customized by our very own Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Nina Stramaglia, to suit the interests of the participant and may include social, physical and creative activities. SENIOR CIRCLE - DON'T MISS OUT!
Do you know anyone who might be interested in the Senior Circle? It is a small, family-like group that meets at the Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays under the friendly and enthusiastic leadership of Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Nina Stramaglia. Members enjoy a variety of activities including crafts, gentle exercise, reminiscing, and current events, as well as having lunch together. This is not a drop in program; pre-registration is required. Please call Sue Bernstein or Nina Stramaglia at 647-3211 for more information.
